Leona Lewis looks set to start recording her fourth studio album despite an ‘amicable split’ from management company, Modest!.
Modest! had looked after Leona ever since she shot to fame after being crowned The X Factor 2006 champion and although the split was reported as ‘amicable’, it comes just weeks after Leona’s latest single flopped.
It would seem the split is ominous news for Leona’s pop career as she follows the same path as Alexandra Burke, Stacey Solomon and Rebecca Ferguson who have all left Modest! in recent months.
However, Simon Cowell’s record company, Syco have revealed that Leona remains an important artist to them and it seems there are no plans to drop the 27-year-old singer.
Leona Lewis could be releasing her fourth album later this year
A Syco statement read: “Leona Lewis is one of the UK's most successful artists, one of a few that have enjoyed huge global success in recent years selling more than 20 million records worldwide."
"She will begin the recording of her fourth album imminently to be released later this year. She remains a key priority artist for Syco and for Sony Music Worldwide."
Leona’s latest single, ‘Lovebird’ failed to even reach the top 200 in the UK and allegedly sold just 600 copies.
