Oh dear. Jake Bugg is the latest star to fall victim to the rabid One Direction fanbase on Twitter.
After Bugg insulted One Direction, saying that the boyband "must know they are terrible," fans of the 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars took to Twitter to send abuse to Bugg - and Jake Bugg quickly became a Trending Topic on the website.
Bugg told Short List magazine: "Who the f**k is saying [they're the closest thing to rock stars we have these days]? Oh, I'm pretty sure they have a good laugh. But it's easy to, isn't it? When you don't have to write any songs.
"People [call them the new Beatles] because they broke America, but that don't mean a thing. I mean, [One Direction] must know that they're terrible."
Band members Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson both commented on the statements on Twitter, with Tomlinson writing, "Hi @JakeBugg do you think slagging off boy bands makes you more indie ?"
The fans quickly responded against Bugg, with user @Hazzappenin_1D writing, "f**king prick, talking s**t about other more successful artists out of envy out of immaturity out of LACK OF HUMILITY. F**k off."
@kerrystitt tweeted Bugg saying, "lol slag one direction!! Do you have 9million+ followers or any number one albums ha no so sit down and shut up"
And One Direction fan account @STYLATORARMY wrote, "how do you feel a one direction fan account has more followers than you".
Jake Bugg branded the X Factor boyband 'terrible'
Fans had previously attacked Boy George after he insulted One Direction's Liam Payne yesterday.
Tweets to Boy George included "u r a f****t" from user @jaaadediplock and user @AussieMrsHoran posted, "Is it just me or does @BoyGeorge look like the pedophile maths teacher every school has :/"
