Pete Wentz has revealed that he and his fellow Fall Out Boy band members honestly ‘didn’t think people would care’ about their comeback after four-year hiatus.
The Illinois four-piece have returned to our lives this year after announcing they would be taking an indefinite break back in 2009. Guitarist, Wentz has admitted that everything seems to have happened so quickly, but the band’s comeback has been a total ‘rush’.
He told MTV News: “When we got on stage in Chicago, it was crazy. It was a rush, because we honestly didn't think people would care, and that's the truth. But it felt like we didn't miss a beat.”
“We're all more appreciative and we've all grown up a bit. It's cool to do Fall Out Boy as Fall Out Men."
Fall Out Boy have enjoyed a great response to their 2013 comeback
Fall Out Boy will be releasing their comeback album, Save Rock and Roll on 15 April 2013 after moving the release date forward by a month due to such an overwhelming response to their return.
Wentz also explained that the friendships within the band are stronger than ever and everyone has shared responsibilites in regards to the writing and recording of their forthcoming album.
He added: “One of the cool things about coming back was that we decided everyone has to be in on every idea, or else it's out. We did ten songs [for the album], maybe there will be eleven songs on there."
“We're having the reunion sex, so like it's so awesome that we don't have to bring in the whips yet."
