Adele thanked boyfriend Simon Konecki at last night's Oscars ceremony, as she was awarded the Best Original Song Oscar for her Bond theme, 'Skyfall'.

The singer had previously won both a Golden Globe and a Grammy for the song, as well as the BRIT award for British Single of the Year.

She accepted the award with Paul Epworth, the co-writer of the song, and struggled to hold back tears.

Adele said when accepting the award, "Thank you so much. This is amazing." She thanked her management team before adding, "And my man. I love you, baby."

Adele then gestured at the crowd and said, "You're all amazing as well!"

The 'Skyfall' singer beat competition from 'Before My Time' from Chasing Ice, 'Everybody Needs A Best Friend' from Ted, 'Pi's Lullaby' from Life of Pi and 'Suddenly' from Les Miserable in order to win.

Adele was reportedly hypnotised to avoid stage fright, but she seemed fine when accepting her award.

Adele has previously struggled with stage fright

A source told The Sun, "A friend in LA recommended the hypnotherapist because Adele was getting so nervous about the gig.

“She has been rehearsing for the show with an orchestra, but all the preparation in the world isn’t enough to keep her calm.

“She was so nervous before last year’s Grammys that she was sick before going on stage. She doesn’t want a repeat of that."

Which music legends will Adele topple next?
