Girls Aloud have revealed plans for Glastonbury weekend - and they don't involve heading down to Somerset for any festival action.
The girl group have revealed they will be celebrating Cheryl Cole's 30th birthday on the weekend of Glastonbury 2013, and as such, have no plans to perform or attend the festival this year. The reality stars have been among the artists named for possible performance slots at the event, but like The Stone Roses and Daft Punk before them, it looks like we can cross them off the list.
"We could be available for Glastonbury but my birthday is on the Sunday and as I'm turning 30 I want to have a big one. I want to party hard," says Cheryl Cole in a new interview with The Daily Star, with bandmate Nicola Roberts stating she wanted the group to party hard, over a number of days and nights.
No official line-up has been announced for Glastonbury 2013, but a number of artists have been confirmed to perform on the Glastonbury dance stage. Among those announced are Nas, AlunaGeorge, Disclosure and Rudimental.
No strangers to festivals, Girls Aloud performed at V in 2008
Girls Aloud are currently on tour across the UK on their Ten tour, celebrating ten years of chart topping success since winning Pop Stars: The Rivals.
If they had attended Glastonbury this year, then they would possibly have been able to test Kimberley Walsh's theory that she is Noel Gallagher's favourite member of the group. The singer claims Noel gave her his seal of approval when he tried to book the girl group for Teenage Cancer Trust show he was curating.
"He said I was his favourite [Girls Aloud member] and Sarah wasn't very happy about that," Walsh told The Sun newspaper.
