Dance legends The Prodigy have been announced as headliners for this year's Creamfields festival.

The 'Firestarter' dance giants will play the Saturday night slot of the festival, which will be their only UK festival appearance of the summer.

Meanwhile, Swedish DJ Avicii, Tiesto and David Guetta are all also signed on for the festival, with Guetta headlining the North Stage on the Sunday night.

Groove Armada are also lined up to perform and will likely debut some new material, Maya Jane Coles will take to the Pryda Friends Arena and the Annie Mac Presents Arena will welcome Julio Bashmore, East Everything, AlunaGeorge and Bauuer.

Yesterday the events organisers announced that they had made £500,000 worth of improvements to the site after heavy rain led to a disastrous early end for the festival last year.

Creamfields 2013 will take place between August 23 and 25 in Daresbury, Cheshire.

Organisers stopped entry last year when floods made the site dangerous
