Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood has revealed he is desperate for The Rolling Stones to perform at this year's Glastonbury, saying that live is where the band are at their best.

Wood was out on the town last night at the NME Awards, and picked up two awards on behalf of the Rolling Stones, for Best Music Film and Best Live Band. With The Rolling Stones' confirmed shows now beind them, talk turned to future plans and more specifically, those festival rumours.

"Keep your eye out because you know I want to do some more (live shows) and I know that the boys do too," said Ronnie in an interview with Reuters.

"I want to do it badly [Glastonbury], but I've no idea yet ... but I am just looking forward to ... I know we're the best live, so I just hope we get it."

A handful of bands have been confirmed to perform at Glastonbury 2013, including Nas, AlunaGeorge, Disclosure and Rudimental on the dance stage. Emily Eavis has previously confirmed that neither The Stone Roses or Daft Punk will be performing at Glastonbury 2013.

Ronnie attended the NME Awards with new wife Sally Humphreys

Ronnie Wood attended the ceremony with new wife Sally Humphreys and has recently celebrated becoming a grandad once again, when son Jesse and girlfriend Fearne Cotton became new parents to son Rex Rayne.

It was also rumoured that Ronnie presented previous wife Jo with a bag of cocaine while she was in hospital after giving birth to their son.
