The Killers have revealed that they have started working on what will be their fifth studio album and hope it will be out soon.

The new record will be the follow-up to 2012's Battle Born and will apparently see the band 'experimenting a bit,' according to drummer, Ronnie Vannucci Jr.

Vannucci Jr told the Daily Star: "I hope there's a new album soon. We've been working on stuff.

"We were in the studio just the week before last. I want to put out a new record now but it's about getting us all on the same page."

The Killers have been working on their next album

The American group took home the Best International Band gong at this year's NME awards and Vannucci admits to looking forward to learning new songs to play as he feels the same songs can get a bit boring.

He added: "I bring a guitar with me everywhere. Playing the same songs over and over again is like having the same dinner every night.

"So you want to start getting in the kitchen and experimenting a bit."
