Two artists that we absolutely adore here at Gigwise, Jessie Ware and Laura Mvula, have released critically acclaimed debut albums in the past year, but the similarities in their record covers was astonishing.
This got us thinking about the other female solo artists that have produced great albums, but have lacked a bit of originality when it came down to what to do with the artwork. Surely they know a self-portrait looking thoughtful and/or down in the dumps has been done in the past?
Our gallery includes some of the biggest selling albums of recent years including Adele's 21 and Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events, but we wonder if they would have been cast aside if anyone was foolish enough to judge a book by its cover?
Take a look through our gallery to see the amazing resemblance between some of the biggest album covers in female solo artist history.
