More about: Lily Allen
Comic Relief always brings out the wild and whacky fundraisers ready and willing to sit in a bath tub full of baked beans or dress up for a day, but this year Lily Allen appears to have taken bizarre charity fund raising to another level.
The singer has joined the Twitter Million campaign - a challenge that hopes to see the social networking site raise £1m for Comic Relief.
But in a slightly strange twist the Allen has promised the highest bidder will have the honour of having a pig named after them before the animal is slaughtered and butchered for meat.
"The highest bidder on my #twittermillion page will get a pig named after them and bacon from it when it's killed. or the choice to save the pig's life," she tweeted.
In an effort to ensure vegetarians don't feel left out, she said they'd be able to bid to spare the pig's life instead.
She later changed her mind about rewarding the highest bidder, realising it favoured the rich, and said the winner would instead be picked at random.
"Ok, can I change my mind and make it 'pick at random' instead of 'highest bidder' or will I get done for false advertising @emmafreud help!, " she posted.
Exactly why Lily is involving pigs is unclear
Other stars taking part in the Twitter Million campaign include Mel C and Olly Murs, though no one other than Lily has chosen to involve livestock in their campaigns.
