Kasabian star Serge Pizzorno has seemingly 'confirmed' that Rolling Stones will be performing at Glastonbury this year.

Serge Pizzorno accidentally let it slip while talking to MTV news about Kasabian's slot at Hard Rock Calling, the festival which takes place on the same weekend as Glastonbury.

The guitarist said, "I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury."

He went on to talk about the fact that Hard Rock Calling will be taking place in Stratford this year, instead of Hyde Park, which has been the previous venue.

"It came as a bit of a shock because we were planning on not doing anything this year," he said. "It's nice because we'll be christening the Olympic Park and we're playing with Paul Weller and Miles Kane, so it's gonna be a great Saturday night."

Pizzorno also said that there will be no sound issues at the new venue, as opposed to the problems that Hyde Park saw.

"This band does not work at low levels – it needs to be deafening," he finished.

The Rolling Stones are very likely to be headlining Glastonbury festival

Ronnie Wood has been the member of the Rolling Stones who has seemed most enthusiastic about the possible slot.

Speaking about Glastonbury previously to Reuters, he said, ""I want to do it badly, but I've no idea yet ... but I am just looking forward to ... I know we're the best live, so I just hope we get it."
