The Live From Jodrell Bank series has announced a third Transmission for 2013, and have revealed it will be curated by electronic pioneers New Order.
The New Order curated show will take place on July 7, the day after The Australian Pink Floyd play in the shadow of the famous Lovell Telescope at Manchester University.
Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr will also be playing the July 7 show, with The Whip, Jake Evans and Hot Vestry also on the bill.
Speaking about the announcement, New Order's Stephen Morris said: "Playing at Jodrell Bank is going to be really exciting. I grew up not far from there and I remember riding bike over to it all the time when I was a little lad.
"I saw Flaming Lips play there and they were brilliant. Really special. We're going to try to do something special too, but we're not telling you what!
"I do plan to take my life-size Dalek and Cyberman up there for the weekend at the very least."
New Order rose from the ashes of Joy Division following the death of Ian Curtis.
They have been one of the most critically acclaimed British bands of the last four decades, pionneering the electronic music that paved the way for house/dance music in the 1980s.
Countless current bands cite New Order as a major influence and inspiration.
The band hand-picked Salford electro band The Whip, ex-Bad Lieutenant mand Jake Evans and experimental indie band Hot Vestry to play at the show.
New Order will curate Transmission 005, on July 7
The Australian Pink Floyd will play on July 6 to mark the 40th anniversary of Dark Side Of The Moon, and August 30 will see Sigur Ros take to the Jodrell Bank stage.
Full line ups for the show are still to be announced, as well as further Transmissions for 2013.
Tickets for the shows are on sale on March 8. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
