When credible musicians involve themselves in the Eurovision Song Contest it rarely works out well, but that doesn't stop them trying.
Today we've already had the news that Bonnie Tyler will be representing the UK, and now it's been reported that Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi will be supplying Armenia's entry. Iommi won't be performing at the contest, but he has written the song 'Lonely Planet' for Armenian band Dorians, which according to BBC News is a 'rock ballad'.
Iommi has a history with Armenia having held raise money for Armenian city Spitak following an earthquake in 1988 which left as many as 45,000 people injured and another half a million homeless.
Last year Iommi and Deep Purple's Ian Gillan rasied money to set up a music school in the same city.
The guitar legend admitted he was initially sceptical about getting involved in the Song Contest.
"I first said, 'oh God, I don't know' - it seemed really strange, me doing a Eurovision song, I don't usually do that," he told the BBC.
"But I said, 'I've got a rock ballad, I'll send it over'."
He might be one of the world's greatest guitarist, but can he write a Eurovision hit?
Iommi also said it had been a new experience for him, and not one he ever thought he'd find himself having.
"I've done a lot of things, but never that," he said. "The thing is, I've always thought, 'oh no, not the Eurovision', and here I am in it now."
Iommi, who is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma, said he hopes the song does well in the contest but expects it will get "slagged [off] like everything else does."
