It's always nice to see musicians putting their fans first, but Swedish dance music star Avicii might be taking it a little too far.

The dance music superstar has delayed surgery to remove his gallbladder in order to keep to his commitments to perform in Australia.

Avicii landed in Brisbane last weekend but was taken straight to a medical facility with 'stomach related issues'.

As a result he was forced to cancel his appearances at the multi-site Future Music Festival in Brisbane and Perth over the weeknd.

Today (March 7) he told fans he'd been deemed well enough to leave hospital.

But he's now facing surgery to have his gallbladder removed after putting off the operation to perform in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide this weekend.

"Finally out of hospital and on recovery mode and trying to pull everything together in order to do as many shows as possible!," he tweeted.

"I was gonna remove my gallbladder remove my gallbladder now which might be behind all of this too, but luckily I'm able to do that at a later time! Right now I'm just really relieved to be out of of the hospital and to be able to do the shows that I can."
