Bastille have scored their first No.1 album with their debut record, Bad Blood after fighting off competition from Stereophonics' Graffiti on the Train to claim top spot.
It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Bastille who have achieved a No.2 single with 'Pompeii' last week, only to follow-up with a No.1 album in the UK.
Speaking of potentially having a No.1 debut record, lead singer Dan Smith told Gigwise: "We never envisaged even bothering the Top Ten or anything like that. It feels like it’s happening to someone else and we are just watching.
"It’s just really nice that people are buying the album and seem to like it. That for us is the most important thing."
Bastille have grabbed their first UK No.1 with debut album Bad Blood
Bastille were one of four new entries in the UK album chart's top ten as Dido's Girl Who Got Away claimed No.5, Laura Mvula's Sing To The Moon slipped in at No.9 and of course the comeback Stereophonics LP finished just behind Bastille.
The newly crowned chart-toppers saw the third single 'Pompeii' slip one place to No.3 in the singles chart whilst Justin Timberlake's 'Mirrors' claimed a second week at No.1 and Bruno Mars' When I Was Your Man grabbed at No.2.
