Eighties star Kim Wilde broke records when she took part in a Comic Relief gig, which took place on a jumbo jet, the highest concert ever performed.

Go West and Bananarama joined Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley and Kim Wilde for a 43,000 foot rendition of Baauer's 'Harlem Shake' aboard a BA jumbo jet. The acoustic set also included Wilde's 'Kids in America'and 'You Keep Me Hanging On', while Hadley performed 'True', 'Gold' and a cover of Queen's 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'.

The event, hosted by Shane Richie and aptly named '80s Gig In The Sky' broke the previous record held by James Blunt. The stars had to perform a full 15 minute set with musical instruments, but went on to play for over 22 minutes.

Performing on transport was not unfamiliar for Wilde who became an internet sensation last year after a video of her performing to commuters on a train went viral.

In a statement Wilde said: "I'm becoming an old hand at performing on public transport, in fact I'm getting a bit of a taste for it, so when British Airways asked me to play at 43,000ft I simply couldn't resist."
