Empire Of The Sun are back and, with them, comes their brilliantly theatrical stage attire. But they're far from the first to indulge in a little fashion decadence when it comes to the stage show.
Whether it's negative or positive, when an artists makes a serious effort with their onstage get-up it always makes an impression on the audience.
In some cases wacky and outlandish fashion is an extension of the artist's creative persona, as with Lady Gaga and Grace Jones before her. The music and fashion come as a package.
Sometimes the outfits define the music, or a period of the music, like David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust costumes (which can't have been comfortable to wear), KISS' makeup or Katy Perry's sacchrine sweetshop-themed stage shows.
