Iron Maiden have launched a new brand of beer, named Trooper, which will be sold at pubs in Cheshire and be available to buy at their future gigs.

The beer is called Trooper, in the band's iconic logo, and shows their mascot Eddie on the front. It is 4.7% strength.

Trooper is named for one of the band's most known songs, and according to the band's website features "malt flavors and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops."

The band teamed up with Stockport brewers in order to create the ale, and Trooper is set to go on sale across Cheshire, as that's where it's brewed. It will also be available for fans to buy after gigs.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson said that the band want it to go worldwide, continuing, "Iron Maiden is something quintessentially British — so we said we should be doing a real ale.

"As a fan of traditional English cask beer, I thought this actually be something really exciting. We could actually develop a proper, real, long-term beer."

Speaking to The Sun, he also supported their 'crusade' for a beer tax cut, saying, "We have to satisfy the thirst of Iron Maiden fans around the world — and there’s a lot of them."

Brewery rep Oliver Robison added, “Not only do Iron Maiden genuinely enjoy a good pint of cask ale, but so do many of their fans. Music and beer are great treats for the senses in their own right, but the combination is very powerful.”
