Taylor Swift's unopened fanmail has been found in a recycling bin in Nashville, Tennessee.
A local teen in South Nashville found unopened fan letters addressed to the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' star in the recycling bin, when she was recycling her newspapers. Kylee Francescan found hundreds of the letters, and forwarded them to a local television station who got in touch with Swift's representative.
Kylee said, "I didn't know if they were stolen or discarded," she said. "So I threw them in a box. And I'm like, 'Somebody needs to let Taylor know.' It did bother me because I know how much her fans mean to her."
Nashville's News 2 Investigates informed Swift's team, and spokesperson Paula Erickson has said that the letters were thrown away in error.
Erickson explained, "Taylor gets thousands of fan letters every day and they are delivered to her management office. After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled.
"The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling centre. We sincerely appreciate [local television station] Channel 2 bringing this to our attention."
