Green Day have returned to the stage with their first performance since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was in rehab.
The band made their debut at Austin's SXSW festival, performing at one of the biggest venues the event has to offer - Austin's Moody Theater. They came on stage while the theme music to The Good, The Bad And The Ugly played, and gave a high-energy performance.
Armstrong told the crowd, "Get your f**king hands up!" and allowed a male audience member on stage to sing the last verse - and the fan kissed Armstrong at the end of the song.
Showing he still has a sense of humour, Armstrong joked about his rehab stint when he started speaking into a microphone which was switched off. As a technician came to sort it out, Armstrong added, "I wasn't even on drugs."
During 'St Jimmy', the band shot t-shirts, water and toilet paper into the audience, with Armstrong saying earlier, "This is not a party. This is not a birthday. This is a celebration."
Overall, the concert was definitely a triumphant return for Armstrong - and it's certain that fans can't wait to see what Green Day will do next.
