Well, as shocking outfits go Madonna's outfit at the GLAAD awards isn't quite on a par with some of conical-bra or leather fetish gear she's worn in the past, but it certainly made a statement as she took to the stage at the show.
The singer was presenting an award to US personality Anderson Cooper at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination, and her outfit choice was a statement against the US Scout movement, following a number of stars including Carly Rae Jepsen and Train cancelling performances due to the organisation's anti-gay stance.
“I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn’t let me join,” Madonna said during a ten-minute speech. “I think that’s f–ked up. I know how to build a fire. I can pitch a tent … most importantly, I know how to scout for boys.”
She also spoke out against the jailing of Russian punk band Pussy Riot, adding: “If President Putin sat in a room with Pussy Riot — he’d probably want to f–k all of them, but anyways. If he did [meet with them] and he had an open dialogue with them about their point of view as young, creative women growing up in modern-day Russia, would he really have allowed them to be dragged away to prison for three years? I mean, think about it, this is insane."
She said all this while wearing a woggle. Check out the photos here.
