Taylor Swift has seemingly confirmed that her hit 'I Knew You Were Trouble' was written about One Direction's Harry Styles.

The pair dated on and off before breaking up earlier this year, and it was rumoured that the hit track was written about Styles - particularly when Swift's love interest in the music video had a similar tattoo to one of Styles'.

Now Swift seems to have confirmed it, implying that she was singing the song to him at the BRIT awards this year.

Speaking about performing the track at the BRIT awards, Swift told The Sunday Times magazine, "You're balancing the analytical side of your brain, which is telling you where to go and how to go there, with the other side of your brain, which is saying, 'Feel everything you're singing, and show it on your face. Feel everything exactly as you felt it when you wrote the song'."

When asked how she felt knowing that Styles was in the audience and watching the performance, Swift responded, "Well, it's not hard to access that emotion when the person the song is directed at is standing by the side of the stage watching."

The pair split up at the beginning of this year

And it looks like the curly-haired teen could soon be the subject of another Taylor Swift hit - about the fact he has incorrect song lyrics tattooed on his arm.

A source told the Daily Star, "Harry didn't have a clue he got the wording wrong until Taylor pointed it out to him.

He wouldn't accept he was wrong until she asked The Temper Trap at the ARIA Awards back in November.

"Harry was so embarrassed he made Taylor promise not to tell anyone but that's all changed now they've split up. Taylor knows just how sensitive Harry is about it so she's planning to mock him in a new song.”
