Dave Grohl has revealed how he clashed with Blue singer Lee Ryan at a London party he was hosting, where the former popstar was so drunk he was nearly kicked out of the event.

Grohl's new superband Sound City Players performed in London, and Ryan went to the afterparty - but was so drunk that he almost ruined it.

Speaking to NME, the Foo Fighters frontman said, "There was this English singer who was with us who was completely wasted. We almost had to throw him out. Have you heard of this band, Blue?"

He continued, "The guy kept telling us how many million records he's sold. I was like, 'Really? You?'"

Grohl also recently accused TV reality shows of stifling creativity, telling new bands that they shouldn't be put off by shows such as The Voice.

Speaking in his keynote address at SXSW, he said, "Who's to say what's a good voice and what is not a good voice? The Voice? Imagine Bob Dylan playing Blowin' in the Wind in front of Christina Aguilera."

Grohl added, "There is no right or wrong. There is only your voice, your voice screaming through an old recording console, singing from a laptop, echoing from a street corner, a cello, a turntable, a guitar.

"It doesn't matter. What matters most is that it's your voice. Cherish it. Respect it. Nurture it. Challenge it. Stretch it. Scream it until it's gone. Because everyone's blessed with at least that. Who knows how long it will last?"
