Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle has revealed she is against a Girls Aloud split, saying she was unable to stop her bandmates from ending the pop group.

The band posted a message last night after their last concert in Liverpool, telling fans thank you but that Girls Aloud were no longer together.

However, Nadine has posted on her Twitter, saying that she actually wanted to carry on.

In the tweet, Nadine writes, "You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going. Xxxx"

None of the other girls have commented on Nadine's statement, which seems to be still up on her Twitter account for fans to read, despite speculation that it would soon be deleted.

The tweet posted from the band's official Twitter account last night said, "Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade.

"It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together . Love you lots."
