Girls Aloud apparently decided to split up so they could settle down and start families.

The girls announced the decision to break up earlier this week, following the final concert of their Ten tour in Liverpool, and it could be because some of the girls want to try new things - such as having children.

A source told The Sun, "They feel now is the right time to bail out. They know they can't be on tour and wearing the outfits they wear on stage when they're mothers."

It seems that Nadine Coyle doesn't think so, though. The Irish girl band member took to Twitter yesterday in order to tell fans that the split was nothing to do with her, and that if she had her way, the band would still be together.

Nadine posted, "You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going. Xxxx"

However, fans will still be able to watch one last gig, as the Girls Aloud concert at the London O2 Arena is to be televised on Viva, and on MTV and MTV Live HD a day later.

Girls Aloud could be planning to settle down and start families

The gig is going to be shown at 7pm on Saturday 30 March, and will be repeated on Sunday 31 March at 1pm on MTV and MTV Live HD.

According to the MTV website, the band's final interview will also be shown on Sunday 31 March on MTV, along with the live concert.
