After making his SXSW debut by closing this year's event, pop god Prince has now announced that he is embarking on a 28-show tour of the US later this year.
The tour was revealed by the 54-year-old's backing band 3rd Eye Girl during a podcast for fansite Drfunkenberry this week.
Prince will visit eight cities on his west coast tour - Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, and Anaheim - and will play two dates in each.
Not only that, but the 'Purple Rain' singer will be playing two shows on each date, one early and one late, totalling 28 shows between April 15 and May 8.
Once he's done with the US he'll head to Europe for several shows.
He'll play three shows at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 13,14 and 15, having first played the festival ahead of his 21-night residency at London's O2 in 2007.
In August he'll play two more shows, one in Stockholm on August 4 and on in Skanderborg, Denmark on August 7.
Fans will be hoping that further tour announcements bring Prince to the UK
The Drfunkenberry site also suggests that more dates could be added to the tour at a later date.
Ticketing information is expected to be announced in the next week or so.
Recent rumours had Prince set to headline this year's Glastonbury, but Emily Eavis, daughter of the festival's founder, has since denied the speculation, saying Prince definitely isn't playing.
