One of the men accused of planning to murder British singer Joss Stone had reportedly written a diary where he uses the words 'death', 'rob' and 'injure'.

A court heard today that 35-year-old Kevin Liverpool wrote several suspicious notes in his diary that was seized by police when they raided his one-bedroom flat in Longsight.

Police told the trial that in the diary, Mr Liverpool has written a reminder to buy a semi-automatic gun, a silencer, infrared equipment and a 'ninja sword.

Mr Liverpool and associate Junior Bradshaw are in court after being accused of plotting to kill Stone, but have denied their charge of conspiracy to murder, rob and cause grievous bodily harm.

The diary also included a number a slang terms such as 'wet' - meaning to repeatedly stab someone until their clothes are soaked with blood and 'popo' which is short for police. Mr Liverpool also referred to the singer as 'princess' throughout the diary and lists a number of different musical stars including Dizzee Rascal, Eminem, Beyonce, Craig David, Chris Brown and Girls Aloud.
