My Chemical Romance have announced that they will break-up after 12 years and four albums as the rock act say it's 'time for it to end'.
The four-piece revealed the news via a short statement on their official website on Friday (22 March) and have labelled being in the band a 'true blessing'.
The statement reads: "Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible."
"We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure."
The band's most recent offering came in the form of Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys which was released in 2010 and reached number eight in the Billboard 200 chart after selling around 112,000 copies.
My Chemical Romance were at the peak of their powers during the mid 00s as they saw two of their albums, 2005's Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and 2006's The Black Parade become platinum-selling records.
