86-year-old crooner Tony Bennett has revealed that the jazz album he is currently working on with pop icon Lady Gaga is set to be recorded in June, 2013.

The pair agreed to create a record together earlier this year, but there were doubts as to whether Gaga would be able to work due to her recent hip surgery. However, Bennett has reassured fans that plans are going ahead, labelling the 'Marry The Night' singer as 'phenomenal'.

Speak to Rolling Stone, Bennett said: "We're working on it from now until June, and then we'll record in June.

"She's phenomenal. I get along great with her. She's looking forward to it and so am I."

Gaga confirmed the album earlier this year on her Twitter account. The star posted a photo of herself with the jazz legend and captioned it, "And here's me and my handsome date, I simply cannot wait for our album together, he's my darling."

The pair struck up their relationship during their performance of 'Lady Is A Tramp' which Bennett used for his Duets II album and even saw the crooner describe Gaga as, "one of the best jazz singers anyone has ever heard."

It was recently reported that Gaga lost around £16 million after being forced to cancel 22 dates of her Born This Way' world tour due to a hip injury which need corrective survery.

The singer's eagerly awaited third studio album, ARTPOP, is set to be release later this year.
