Adele has allegedly agreed to record a duet with Robbie Williams as the former Take That star plans to make his second swing album which will act as the follow-up to his 2001 LP Swing When Your Winning.
The pair have reportedly become close friends after spending time together in Los Angeles earlier this year before the Oscars and are both keen to get into the studio with each other in the near future.
A source told The Sun: "Adele and Robbie have really hit it off.
"They are great friends and talked at length about doing something together when she was in LA with him ahead of the Oscars last month. They threw some ideas around but haven't decided exactly what song they'd like to work on, things are in the early stages."
Robbie Williams want to duet with Adele for his forthcoming swing album
The 'Skyfall' singer has always shied away from collaborations, but was once reported as saying if she was to perform with anyone it would be Robbie, saying in 2009, "If I could do one with anyone — Robbie? Any day."
The former Take That singer has apparently pencilled in some studio time with Adele later this year as he looks to record a swing sequel for what was his best-selling album to date back in 2001, which saw him perform a digitally assisted duet with crooning legend Frank Sinatra.
Williams hit the headlines recently after responding to a comment made by Suede frontman Brett Anderson who claimed there was a number of "crap boybands in the nineties". Williams to offence to the comment, saying there was also a string of "quarter decent three chord k**bheads" around at the same time.
On his official blog, the singer wrote: "I feel sorry for the people who are too bigoted to appreciate the latter. The world's a lot more exciting with a One Direction in it.
"And more hearts will genuinely race at a new 1D album than they ever have or will at any Suede album in any time period. Sorry about the truth."
