The plot continues to thicken when it comes to X Factor’s overhaul, with Nicole Scherzinger reportedly setting a minimum fee for her to return to the show’s judging panel.
The former-Pussycat Doll has allegedly been ‘dancing around’ the idea of going back to the show, and is weighing up her options for the rest of 2013.
But apparently the star wants a significant pay rise if she is going to return to the ITV show, demanding that her £750,000 pay check be raised to £1.5m.
Last year’s show saw Scherzinger victorious as one of her acts, James Arthur, won the contest and she was a favourite judge among TV viewers.
But the show also saw a ratings slump and is in need of a revamp ahead of this year’s show to re-entice viewers.
The Sunday Mirror reports that Scherzinger is in negotiations with the show’s bosses, but that the main sticking point is her salary.
As source tells the paper: “Cowell has made Nicole an offer but she knows the money she wants and it’s double what she got last year. She knows that she was the start of the show last year and therefore thinks she should be paid appropriately.
“Last year it was all so rushed, she was a last minute replacement for Kelly Rowland, so she couldn’t negotiate properly.

Apparently the ‘Boomerang’ singer is refusing to go back to the show unless her terms are met, and is playing hardball in salary talks.
“Nicole sees the role as a job, not just a chance to be on TV. She hopes for an agreement but she won’t go back unless terms are right,” the source added.
Sharon Osbourne is thought to be the favourite to fill Tulisa’s spot after the ‘Female Boss’ was told she wouldn’t be asked to return to the show.
