Chris Brown has discussed openly his attempts to win back Rihanna, revealing he is 'eternally grateful' for a second chance after his brutal assault on the singer in 2009.
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his US radio show, Brown admitted that he "didn't know" if Rihanna would ever forgive him.
Brown says: "I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident."
"That time was probably the worst part of my life. Being at that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded."

The 23-year-old singer was put on five probation and given six months of community service after pleading guilty to the assualt.
Rihanna has recently decided to forgive Brown and the pair have since entered into a relationship once again.
Brown has been a the centre of a number of celebrity feuds and altercations with the public including a brawl with Frank Ocean and an argument with a parking attendant, but admits he is trying to 'grow up'.
He adds:"I can't go around blaming. It's all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man."
Speaking of his relationship with Rihanna, Brown says, "It's still like we’re kids,I try not to be too grown and be like, 'Let's have candlelight dinner every night."
"I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine."
