Who would have thought Justin Timberlake would be one of the biggest selling music artists of the early part of 2013? Not us, and it seems, not JT himself either.

The US superstar narrowly missed sales of a million with his 2013 comeback album The 20/20 Experience, but still chalked up sales of 968,000 in one week - the highest sales figures of his solo career.

Timerlake has since taken to Twitter to speak of his shock at how well his comeback has been, telling fans and followers: "Whoa... Speechless. Shocked. Numbers go up, numbers go down. I just hope this album makes your Summer... You already made mine."

He also hinted at more surprises coming in the coming week for fans, adding: "I'm gonna find a way to show my appreciation to you ladies and gents this week ... Stay tuned"

Timberlake is expected to announce a solo tour for 2013, so could details of that be on the cards?

JT is understandably pleased with the success of The 20/20 Experience

Timberlake’s long-term manager Johnny Wright announced the planned solo tour in an interview. When asked about solo tour plans, Wright said: “Yeah. Probably he’ll go out sometime in the fall. We haven’t routed that yet or figured out which cities we’re going to play," Digital Spy reported earlier this week.

"I know we’ll start in North America first. But again, our focus is getting the album out and getting the Jay/Justin piece done. And I would say sometime in April/May we’ll announce when Justin is going out on his solo tour."
