Watch: Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran perform out of sync duet

Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran experienced an on stage duet nightmare in New Jersey last night (28 March) as Sheeran's earpiece failed, leaving the pair singing at completely different speeds and totally out of sync. Watch the awkward moment below.

Swift's mammoth RED tour hit New Jersey and was going well until she called the British singer on stage to join her for her 'Everything Has Changed' single.

Understandably trying to make light of the situation, Swift tells the crowd, "live shows, ladies and gentlemen. Give it up for Ed Sheeran, who's still playing even after his in-ears went out!"

Speaking of the out of time duet, Sheeran told US Weekly: "My earpiece fell out. I couldn't hear in time with the music. I was worried about it but these things happen. We'll move on."

Watch the duet from about 48 seconds in below:

'The A-Team' singer hasn't had the best of times during his tour with Swift as the singer was also filmed falling head over heels as he attempted to jump from one speaker to another.

Sheeran has also had to constantly deny rumours that he was in a relationship with Swift and has confirmed that the pair are nothing more than close friends.

He told the Sun: "You don’t have to bang a girl just because she’s your friends. It's not a necessity.

"So that’s why I’d never go there with her. I wouldn’t want to spoil things."
