Lil Wayne has admitted that he nearly died following his most recent seizure, which resulted in hospitalization.
The rapper was recently in the Intensive Care Unit at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA following a seizure, which he has now admitted that he has a history of.
Speaking to Power 106, Wayne opened up about the medical issue, saying, "[I'm] prone to seizures. This wasn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh... I have had a bunch of seizures, you just never hear about them.
"But this time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 per cent. Basically, I could've died."
He went on to explain that his entire team is aware of the problem and confirmed that he is epileptic.
Despite rumours that the seizure was due to his use of 'sizzurp', which is a cough medicine mixture involving codeine, Wayne has said instead that "the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though."

He also spoke about the coverage from TMZ, which at one point stated the rapper was being given his last rites and was close to death - despite the fact that it was denied by Wayne's friends and family.
"That’s what they do," he said. "I can’t be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell them not to do. I can’t be upset at TMZ for doing what they do. They gon’ probably come out tomorrow and say something else about somebody else that ain’t true."
