Dappy has claimed that a nightclub fight which took place on Friday 29 March, in which he was reportedly attack by a man with a plastic cup, 'could have been fatal'.
The controversial young star was involved in a brawl in a Hereford nightclub after a man allegedly threw a glass at the 'No Regrets' performer during his gig at the Play club in the city. Dappy does not deny the incident, but claims he only acted in self-defence.
"I swung to disarm the glass from his hand. If that glass had hit me it could have been fatal," he stated, reports Contactmusic from an unknown source.
The manager of a nightclub claims that the glass he was attacked with was made of plastic however. "A customer lunged through security towards Dappy with a plastic glass in his hand," said manager Dan Guerche. "Dappy, fearing for his safety, pushed the male away to remove the glass from his hand and caught the male on the head."
Dappy has made more headlines with his personal life than solo career
Earlier in 2013, Dappy avoided a jail term after being handed a suspended sentence for a 2012 petrol station brawl, which began when his advances on two young women were rejected. He had been facing a maximum sentence of three years in prison, but was instead ordered to pay £4,500 in compensation and £2,000 in costs at a hearing at Guildford Crown court in February 2013.
The incident occurred at a petrol station last year when Dappy invited two girls to get into his car. The girls refused and Dappy allegedly spat at the pair and swore at them, calling them 'sluts' and 'ugly'. A brawl then ensued when three men stopped to defend the girls, leaving the men with 'sever facial injuries'.
