Meat Loaf's has confirmed his upcoming Last At Bat tour will be his last, as he claims he no longer wishes to tour his music.
The 65 year old has long been suffering from health problems, and the rocker came under fire in 2007 for cancelling his European tour after developing a cyst on his vocal cords. The decision to retire is partly because of his poor health, and the rumours have been circulating for a while that this tour could be his last.
"This is really it... I just don't want to travel anymore," the 'Bat Out of Hell' singer admitted to Reuters TV. "I outweigh (Mick) Jagger by about 100 pounds and that counts for something. He hasn't seen the wear and tear."
However, he did say that his health is currently 'fine', continuing, "When your name is on the marque, you either get the glory or you get the hits. Over the years, a lot of stones and a lot of arrows have been flying my way. You expect that."
Fans will be pleased to know that Meat Loaf did not rule out performing live again, such as one-off concerts, but simply has no plans to continue touring.
Meat Loaf has no plans to continue touring after the Last at Bat performances
During the Last at Bat tour, the first half of the concert will be dedicated to Meat Loaf's hits such as 'I'd Do Anything For Love', and the second half will feature the seven songs - in order - from his Bat Out of Hell album.
He also cautioned fans that if he cries during the last song, 'Crying Out Loud', it's not because he's sad at touring but because the track always makes him emotional.
Meat Loaf finished, "Even in rehearsal when I go to sing it I start crying so it's not like when you see me in the show and I am crying it's like "oh I bet he...". I would do it in rehearsal, I can't help myself."
