Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket Jackson - along with Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson - are suing the promoters of Michael's London O2 concerts for £26.5bn.

The children are claiming that AEG Live, the promoters behind Michael's series of concerts at the London O2, hired Dr Conrad Murray in order to make sure that Michael got enough rest to perform. Murray is now currently serving a four year prison sentence after he was found guilty of manslaughter in 2011.

The Jacksons are accusing AEG of the alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Murray, but AEG are arguing instead that Jackson was responsible for his own death, due to his addiction to prescription drugs.

AEG lawyer Marvin Putnam says, in a documentary which is going to be shown on CNN on Friday (5 April, "I don't know how you can't look to Mr Jackson's responsibility there. He was a grown man. Mr Jackson is a person who was known to doctor shop. He was known to be someone who would tell one doctor one thing and another doctor something else."

He also said that Michael's acquittal in 2005 on a child molestation trial 'resulted in an incredible increase in his drug intake.'

He continued, "We're talking about Michael Jackson. This is a man who would show up in pyjamas. This is a man who would stop traffic and get out and dance on top of his car. This is a man who would go to public events with a monkey named Bubbles. This is a man who said he slept in an oxygen chamber."

However, Kevin Boyle - the lawyer for the Jackson family - said, "The truth about what happened to Michael, which AEG has tried to keep hidden from the public since the day Michael died, is finally emerging. We look forward to the trial where the rest of the story will come to light."

The compensation battle started today, with the jury selection, and is thought to continue for the next two to three months.
