Steve Buscemi is to direct the live stream of an upcoming Vampire Weekend concert, which will take place on 28 April at the Roseland Ballroom in New York.

Buscemi has previous director experience, including episodes of The Sopranos and 30 Rock, as well as having starred in such classic films as The Big Lebowski, Resevoir Dogs and Ghost World.

He will now direct the Vampire Weekend concert, which is part of the American Express Unstaged series - the series has previously featured The Killers, Usher and Jack White. It will be streamed through YouTube and VEVO.

The band have been posting frequently on their Twitter account about Buscemi, writing, "EXCITING NEWS - Chris Baio has been working on a family tree for months and just discovered he is a distant cousin of actor Steve Buscemi

He has reached out to Mr. Buscemi who was VERY EXCITED about the connection. We are thrilled about the potential for showbiz synergy. There is more exciting news to come!"
