Yoko Ono has confirmed the line-up for this year's Meltdown Festival 2013, which she is curating, and the event will feature performances from Siouxsie, Patti Smith, Kim Gordon and Yoko Ono herself.

Siouxsie, Kim Gordon, Reggie Watts, Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, Iggy and the Stooges, Immortal Technique, Patti Smith, Savages, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Marianne Faithfull and Bill Frisell, Cibo Matto, Peaches and Boy George have all been announced for the event, which once again takes place at London's Southbank Centre.

Meltdown takes place on 14-23 June 2013, and Yoko Ono follows in the footsteps of some of the most iconic names in music in curating the event. Previous years have seen spectacular line-ups selected by the likes of David Bowie, Patti Smith, Scott Walker, Jarvis Cocker and, in 2012, Antony of Antony & The Johnsons.

"It’s not only a great honour to curate Meltdown in its 20th year, it’s also a lot of fun to be able to invite many of my favourite performers, activists and favourite collaborators to join me," says Ono in an official statement about the event.

Siouxsie is one of the big names chosen by Yoko Ono for Meltdown 2013

"Yoko Ono is a fascinating artist, as are the collaborators she is bringing from all over the world," says Jude Kelly, artistic director of the Southbank Centre. "She’s an energetic and inspiring peace and environmental activist and a champion for women’s rights. It’s a privilege to have her curating Meltdown’s 20th anniversary."
