Vampire Weekend's frontman Ezra Koenig has made a bold and controversial comparison between N-Dubz and The Beatles, stating his love for Dappy and co in a new interview.
Risking the wrath of Beatles fans the world over, Koenig revealed how he was struck by the Camden trio after seeing footage of the band on TV. He admits, however, that he should possibly research the band further after making such a bold statement.
"I saw N-Dubz on TV last night," he tells Esquire magazine. "They struck me as very self-aware and funny, at least the main guy.
"They really held their own. They got it. I didn't know what to make of the song they played, but when they were messing around.. It was almost like some Monkees or early Beatles kind of vibe."
He then added: "I should probably research them more."
L-R: John, Paul, Ringo... Err, maybe not
The band have been posting frequently on their Twitter account about Buscemi, writing, "EXCITING NEWS - Chris Baio has been working on a family tree for months and just discovered he is a distant cousin of actor Steve Buscemi
He has reached out to Mr. Buscemi who was VERY EXCITED about the connection. We are thrilled about the potential for showbiz synergy. There is more exciting news to come!"
