Police were called to Rihanna's Los Angeles home yesterday (4 April) as the singer became the latest celebrity to become a victim of a 'swatting' prank.
'Swatting' involves a prank call from an unknown source to the police, which in Rihanna's case, claimed that two armed men were inside her house and someone had been shot, according to TMZ.
A host of celebrities have had to deal with police unexpectedly turning up to their properties as P Diddy's LA mansion was recently swarmed by over a dozen police cars and two helicopters as they received a hoax call claiming there had been a shooting at the property.
After searching Diddy's pad, police found that there was no evidence of any kind of criminal activity or shooting, but a law enforcement source has said the police plan to track down and prosecute whoever is behind the 'swatting' pranks.
P Diddy was also a victim of 'swatting' recently
Other victims of 'swatting' include Paris Hilton and Tom Cruise whose Beverly Hills home was visited in January after a hoax call had claimed there had been a robbery.
A number of celebrities have been targeted since the turn of the year as Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus and the Kardashian family have all been left confused when the police have arrived at their front doors.
