Tickets for The Rolling Stones' Hyde Park show this summer sold out in under three minutes of going on sale, despite early concerns over the price of the one-off show.

The band will play the historic London park on July 6, almost exactly 44 years after they played their first, and only, gig there.

The band performed a free show for 250,000 fans in 1969, just days after guitarist Brian Jones was found dead in his swimming pool. They played a handful of shows in London and New Jersey at the end of last year to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and were quick to say they'd got a taste for the stage again.

Tickets for Glastonbury, which The Stones are also headlining, sold out way before the band were announced for the festival, but there are still resale tickets available for their Hyde park show.

But those interested in seeing the band return to the outdoor venue should be prepared to pay top dollar.

The gig will come after Glastonbury, which in turn will come at the end of a stint of touring in the US.

But the band are also expected to announce further dates as part of a larger world tour, which will hopefully include more shows in the UK.

Fans shouldn't get their hopes up for a slump in ticket prices, though, as the band are known for an interest in making money out of their shows. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
