The Rolling Stones have hinted that their upcoming 50 and Counting tour could be similar to their 2012 shows as they could look to welcome a host of guest stars onto the stage with them once again.

Last year, the legendary rockers were joined by the likes of Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen and Florence Welch who all performed guest slots during the Stones' short run of dates in London and New York.

Guitarist Keith Richards told Associated Press: "I have a feeling there's more openness about playing it the same way [as the last tour].

"I can't name names or make promises, but that area of the show is open."

The band have also hinted that there is scope for a few more live dates to be added to the tour if they feel everything is going well and people are enjoying themselves.

Lead singer, Mick Jagger added: "Normally when you announce a tour like this, you announce part of it, you leave it to be, you see what happens, you might do a date here and another date there.

"You don't want to be completely hand fast, so you do leave some dates in between… So we'll see what happens."

Tickets for the Stones’ Hyde Park show this summer sold out in under three minutes of going on sale, despite early concerns over the price of the one-off show.

The band will play the historic London park on July 6, almost exactly 44 years after they played their first, and only, gig there.
