Winner of The Voice 2012 Leanne Mitchell has hit back at reports that she has been earning her keep by performing at birthday parties since winning the competition last year.
Mitchell won last year's competition under the guidance of Welsh crooner Tom Jones, but has had little chart success since the talent show ended in 2012.
The Sun recently reported the 'chart-flop' as saying: "I've done a couple of birthday parties since The Voice. I've no big performances planned at present."
The singer has since taken to Twitter to firmly deny the birthday party rumours saying, "Ok, just to clear things up... I haven't actually sang at ANY 'birthday parties'..?! I haven't been out 'gigging' as I wanted to 100% focus on writing my album.

She added: "However, I did perform in front of Prince Harry last year, does that count as a 'birthday party'??"
Mitchell is currently concentrating on recording her debut album which is set to be released on May 27, 2013. The Voice champion's debut single 'Run To You' failed to get into the top 40 of the UK charts when released in June 2012.
She continued: "I am not going to keep defending myself on what people think I should have done the past year, I have had an amazing year and worked with some amazing people, and will happily be judged on my album out May 27.”
