Jay-Z is reportedly ready to splash $2million on a private island in North Abaco, Bahamas to ensure he can holiday in peace with wife Beyonce and baby girl Blue Ivy.

The 43-year-old rapper is said to be keen to follow in Sir Richard Branson's footsteps as the business magnate spent around $10million on a 74-acre British Virgin Islands land mass Necker Island.

A source told the Sun: "Jay's been looking for a private island for the family.

"He's getting it partly to mark their fifth wedding anniversary but also, with Bey back in the spotlight, it's getting impossible for them to do normal things such as go to the beach with Blue.

"A private island means they'll be able to have quality time with minimum staff and security. He wants to turn it into his own Necker Island like Richard Branson.''

The showbiz couple attracted some controversy whilst visiting Cuba recently as the Caribbean island has a longstanding trade embargo with the US which prevents Americans from visiting the country.

The pair were celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba where it was later revealed that their visit was approved by government officials and deemed as a "cultural visit".
