Sex Pistols star Johnny Rotten was labelled 'rude and sexist' after shouting at a female host on an Australian TV show.
The punk icon made an appearance on the TV show The Project yesterday (9 April), but did not appreciate it when host Carrie Bickmore asked Rotten, real name Lydon, for his thoughts on the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Lydon began shouting at Bickmore, saying, "Shut up, shut up, shut up... Hey missus! Whoever you are, you need to be quiet, your voice is too loud for me... You sound like one of them dreadful damn birds I don't like. You be polite..."
When Bickmore responded that he was being offensive, Lydon said, "So are you... You've got to learn what manners and respect is."
Bickmore, and the other presenters, quickly ended the interview but later discussed the incident on the show, with panellist Andrew Rochford calling Lydon "a flat out, sexist, misogynist pig."
"I sat quietly, gave him his time and let him hang himself," Bickmore said in a radio interview today (10 April). "I woke up this morning and thought 'What a d**k!'... I know he's controversial and I know he's got this reputation... (But) there's a line between being controversial and being downright rude... It was rude and arrogant and sexist."

Lydon was definitely aiming to make a name for himself in Australia, as he had earlier that day shouted obscenities during another radio interview before hanging up on the host.
In a phone interview with ABC Melbourne radio broadcaster Red Symons, Lydon ranted, "Shut your f**king mouth! You a**e hole!... You only want to talk about yourself... You 've got your career, I've got mine. I think mine is a bit more interesting than yours... Goodbye."
