A 23 year old American woman was arrested after she choked her boyfriend, as he wouldn't stop singing 'Thrift Shop'.
Samantha Malson, from Colorado, was with her boyfriend Lars Hansen on Saturday (6 April) celebrating his 26th birthday. Malson told police that they had been fighting "all evening over the fact that Hansen accused Malson of consuming all the alcohol in the house" and so she briefly left the apartment.
When Malson came back, she began to listen to the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis track 'Thrift Shop', which Hansen had been singing from where he was laying on the couch. She told police that Hansen sang the lyrics "over and over" despite the fact that she asked him to stop "25 times".
Malson told police, "He just annoyed me," and reportedly added, "I grabbed him around the throat" and "I did it for intimidation."

According to a Boulder County Sheriff's Office booking sheet, Malson was arrested by the Longmont Police Department for harassment and domestic violence.
'Thrift Shop' currently has over 230 million views on YouTube, and was previously at No 1 on the UK charts.
