Britney Spears wrote a 'love letter' to Adele in the recent edition of Elle magazine, which features the 'Someone Like You' singer on the cover.
The edition is part of Elle's Women in Music issue, which also features Alicia Keys and Rita Ora and includes tributes to Adele from both Britney and Katy Perry - among others.
In the letter, Britney writes, "Her voice is just not like any other voice out there. It draws the emotion out of you. A lot of her songs kind of put me in a trance. We were both at the VMAs, and they were like, ‘Do you want to meet Adele?’ And I was like, ‘Um, yes!’
"She was even better than I imagined, in person – she’s so incredibly down-to-earth. You can tell she hasn’t gotten caught up in that pop music machine thing – which is easy to get caught in – and she hasn’t just listened to what executives were telling her to do. All of her stuff is hers, and that’s really amazing."
This isn't the first time that Britney has spoken out about being a fan of Adele. She previously told Ryan Seacrest in an interview, "I really love Adele. Her voice is just amazing. She has this soulful sound that rings with you and stays with you."
Adele has a definite fan when it comes to Britney Spears
The feeling seems to be mutual, as Adele has said that she nearly named her dog after the 'Femme Fatale' singer, despite the fact that her dog was male.
"He was born on the night I went to see Britney Spears at the O2 in London," she told People. "I almost called him Britney even though he was a boy. [But] it only lasted a few hours until my hangover stopped."
