One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne are two fifths of the most famous boyband on the planet, but were still asked to leave the 'games zone' at a Welcome Break motorway services as the pair failed to prove that they were over 18-years-old leaving their minder asking, "do you not know who they are?"

The popstar pair were having a cheeky flutter on the service station's slot machines before being asked to provide some sort of identification from a female security guard who failed to realise that the two lads were part of the most famous boyband in the world.

29-year-old Ann Fuller said: "I was just doing my job. I’d heard of One Direction but only found out it was them when a colleague later said, ‘Somebody’s thrown out the most popular boyband in the world’."

One Direction were heading along the M74 on their way to perform in Glasgow and had stopped at the Abington services in Lanarkshire as Louis, 21 and Liam, 19 decided to head for the slot machines whilst the other members of the group headed to grab some snacks.

One Direction are currently on a huge UK tour

The gambling duo were unable to prove their age and therefore resorted to purchasing some sweets before heading back onto their tour bus for the journey up to Scotland.

The One Direction 3D film director Morgan Spurlock will be hoping the five-piece didn’t visit a McDonalds during their time at the service station.

He said recently: "They love eating McDonalds in front of me. On the new tour they have a trainer who’s keeping them off the Big Macs."
